LM May 3

Headed down to the city on a Thursday to use our Living Social coupons. Even with the hellish traffic, LM did NOT disappoint!

We decided to just do the regular menu:

LES ENTREES:

Mark chose the Veal Sweetbreads morel mushrooms, veal tongue, spring onion - while we were used to having sweetbreads breaded and crispy, these were still quite tasty. The veal tongue was also an interesting addition. Texture slightly tougher than beef, but still tasty.

Sue chose the Crispy Egg stone ground polenta, wild mushroom jus - She ordered this mostly because it sounded interesting, and it was pretty tasty.

Compliments of the house: Oysters! These tasted much better than the picture looks. Beautiful Citrus foam, probably the best oysters I've ever had . Oysters were served on a bed of kosher salt and pink peppercorns. Very pretty

LES PLAT:

We had viewed the menu online so we were pretty sure we knew what we were going to order. But there was a nice surprise when we got there - Braised Beef Cheeks. Sue let Mark order them. DIVINE! melt in your mouth delicious. And surprisingly huge portion.

Sue was kind of boring and ordered the vegetable risotto. It was tasty, although I probably would have made it with a little more cheese. Very nice and filling spring dish.

Another surprise - the chef sent out some chocolate cake for us to share. Chocolate genache finacier, very rich, but too yummy not to partake!
