Rox City Grill

Groupon meal at Rox City Grill at Hotel Baker, St. Charles, IL

Starter - Charcuterie Board - featuring: Country Pate, Hot Coppa, Chorizo, Foie Gras, Rillette, and Cornichons and a horseradish chutney.

Very nice plate, lots of variety. The chutney was quite spicy, but good with the pate. Lots of food for a starter, meant to be shared.

Mark's meal was one of the night's specials: Seared Atlantic skatewing with a lobster, butter, caper sauce.

The skatewing was incredibly tender, almost melt in your mouth.

Sue's meal was the Kurobua bone in pork chop with taleggio-bacon polenta and truffle gravy. HUGE portion. Not bad, a little underseasoned and not a lot of sauce. but mostly tasty.

For dessert we shared the Ricotta Cheesecake with fried pine nuts, caramel and banana brulee. Unfortunately, forgot to take a picture, because we couldn't wait to dig in. This was probably the best cheesecake I've ever had. The cake was so light and fluffy, the banana was truly bruleed with a nice crunchy coating. This alone is worth going back for!

All in all a nice evening out. Free Public Parking behind Za Za's across the street.
